As I said before, because I have yet to develop time powers to let me loop time back around to play half of my characters Sunday morning of the event, I had to make the choice of who I was going to play. Sad. But for fun, wrote a bunch of epilogue story-bits for some of my characters that happened sometime shortly after the victory over the Mahori.

In a variety of perspectives, and kinda short. And there are a few more I'm still working on. :)

Still also working on time control powers...

7V event

Had a really fun time at the 7V event. So many cool scenes that I got to be a part of. Really really glad I had today off, though. Between the heat and the hill and the number of times that I ran up and down that hill, feel even more run-over-by-a-truck-like than normal. No actual injuries this time, which is nice.

Some highlights:
- I had a surprising amount of fun playing 3rd Lieutenant from the right hooking a bunch of the Albion mods Friday night. Sometimes it's fun to play someone who's not super competant and is deeply out of their depth.
- The sad (but victorious?) end to the Torhi resistance.
- The Scarthan vote! Couldn't believe that the PCs pulled off a unanimous rejection of the surrender, and so many of the people had cool/appropriate lines as they delivered their votes. And standing beside a PC as she sobbed while we cheered the final rejection... Scarthans might be a bit crazy.
- The death of a couple of nasty characters. :) PCs kicked ass on both of the encounters I'm thinking of.
- a couple of random fun RP moments as Diedre with various PCs.
- curing Elizabeth was... um... possibly not a *fun* scene... but it was emotional.
- and playing General Celsa is always a fun time. Her tolerance for politics and random petty bickering is probably at an all time low right now, which is fun.

Feel like I have been hit by a truck. I suspect said truck is named 'cold and wet' or possibly 'that stupid hill'.

7V was this past weekend, and it was fun. )

Overall, very good time. I think my major goal for the next few days will be sleeping enough so that hopefully I'll be ready for Madrigal. So much prep left to do...

Well, 7V happened, and there was some real cool stuff.

And General Celsa: (making non-huge armor is sorta hard)

Had a really good time at the 7V event, but the condition of the site just made everything 10x more difficult. No access to 90% of the cabins, a long walk to Roskin made even longer by having to take a less-direct route on snow/ice-covered trails, and no fields made for an interesting event. Plus [livejournal.com profile] sarrciano and I got to compare the bruises we each got from falling down the back stairs of the old tavern (in separate incidents). Am more than a bit worried for the Madrigal event.

I had a great time, though. I had a lot of fun roleplay stuff, some fantastic scenes, and got to participate in the Scarthan vote, which was possibly the most complicated political plot I have ever seen on either side of larping. And the PCs completely blew it out of the water. It was awesome to watch.

Some highlights:
- a rescue mod, including one moment where the stupid button of everyone in the room got pushed
- a quiet conversation on a moonlit path Friday night
- getting to introduce my new Grace advisor (I always like making up new characters), and I loved some of the interactions I had with various students as her. Yay! It's nice to have a character that can just talk to people without having it be part of a plot.
- "Papa!" (and really most of that fight)
- coming back into town as Nim, both because of the fun roleplay and because of the double-takes I got from half the school
- the Scarthan vote. The tension in the air was palpable, and it wasn't all from the PC side. In case it wasn't obvious, by the time the vote actually happened, plot had mostly lost track of who was voting which way and who was going to make it and who wasn't, so how the vote was going to go was as much a surprise to us as to any PC. There were also a ton of fun little RP moments in that scene, like most of the Scarthan nobility getting upset when I mentioned an assassination attempt, some random guard getting drafted to be the Haliefex seat, Lio's explosion when Bettium's vote was made, a PC making it to the room just in time to show (not tell) an NPC that he was free to vote how he wanted, and the explosive exhalation that went through the room when the 9th 'no' vote was counted. And those were just the things I caught, I'm sure there were more that I missed. Just awesome.

Fun times.

Was a good weekend.

Friday night, [livejournal.com profile] sarricano and I drove out to my parents' place, where my grandparents were visiting. They took me out to dinner for my birthday (after my grandmother gave my mother crap for bad cooking) at this neat Hibachi place, then we went back to their place to eat chocolate cake, and I got some presents. Me and [livejournal.com profile] sarrciano gave my parents the full rant about the Airbender movie, to the apparent amusement of one guy father down the table who was listening in.

Saturday we spent most of the day vegitating and watching old tv shows. It sort of amusing how happily racist some of them are. Anyway, in the evening went to G9's birthday party, which had a prom theme and was a lot of fun.

Sunday, hung out in the morning, then drove to Eagle Pass Camp for the 7V party. Was a bit nervous - I literally showed up with two different costumes, because I didn't know who I'd be playing. But there was briefing/writeup waiting for me when I got there, and had some fun roleplaying with a bunch of different people, even if we were stuck in an overheated room for way too long. Fun times. Is nice to officially be on the NPC side. Dinner afterwards was tons of fun as well. Sat at a table with some people I don't get to hang out with all that often, which was cool, and after my stomach started behaving and I ate some food, I got to circulate. :) We got home sorta late and I was utterly exhausted for no good reason, but still fun.

Oh, and there's a fundraiser being held to benefit the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center.

Well, I managed to get laundry done last night, and some packing, but am still feeling less-than-ready. Need to read some stuff and try to remember what my stats are.

I find it highly ironic that after staffing Madrigal for... five or six years now, and playing two Accellerant games, this is the first time I've actually had to deal with the standard attribute/void reset system. It makes my head hurt.

Hmmm. Need to make myself a Nimtheriel icon...

Just wrote up Omi's will, which was mostly interesting/amusing in that it made things pretty clear in terms of where Omi's priorities are. Also a little depressing.

Also, the more I learn about 7V, the more I wish I was playing Omi in that game. Omi is sort of perfect for 7V, and would do extremely well in it. Much better than in NERO, honestly. Ah well.

7V playtest

Was a lot of fun. Got to try out a couple of builds for different headers, hit things a bunch, discover several ways not to do things, and generally had a fun time with the playtest part of it. Some surprising things, which was neat. I've never seen a larp at this stage of development before, so just kinda watching various developments was fun (not to mention the amusement factor of certain people wandering around the field with several pieces of paper in their hands, shuffling said papers while staring at them with a frown of concentration, and occasionally looking up long enough to throw a couple of damage spells into the melee before going back to the papers).

After that was the panels and the eating and the talking. The casting panel was my favorite, I think. Just some interesting stuff from a couple of very experienced casters about how to be an effective caster, and a couple of neat little tricks, some of which I've seen in action, but it was nice to have them explained. I got drafted for the healing panel since someone else couldn't make it, and I went over all the basics, such as knowing where to stand so you aren't punched in the face/kicked in the crotch, and about how if someone hands you a body, the first thing you say is stabilize/first aid, no matter what. Also had fun at the makeup panel. [livejournal.com profile] cointeach did a really neat presentation on layering colors to get different shading effects. Talked to [livejournal.com profile] callierat afterwards, and got her perspective on the differences between their methodologies.

After that, it was mostly just talking and eating. [livejournal.com profile] marcus_sez_vote talked me into bidding with him on something we're having made into fun props for Aralis, and chatted with all sorts of different people until way too late. Didn't help clean up as much as I should have, really. Afterwards we drove to a Wendy's to get coffee/food for some people, and ended up talking in the parking lot until more way too late. But I got to hear a hilarious story from [livejournal.com profile] callierat. :)
